If not for the truck, this could be any abandoned fantasy town. I like it a lot.

This is Los Huesos, “the Bones.” I’m not gonna say “Welcome” because you aren’t, and when you leave here you’ll be glad you did. The ghosts outnumber the people living here, and those folks that do stay here keep to themselves…for less than savory reasons. Why do they call it “the Bones”? Some say it’s built on an Indian burial ground, a big one. Another story says it was the site of a massacre by the Mexican Army. Others say it’s built on the bones of all that’s died here since it was built, or because of a voodoo curse laid over it by Madame Elsa and her high-falutin’Bayou gentry – she hosts some pretty weird soirees I hear tell. Me, I just think it’s full of ghosts, victims of some dark soul that makes people disappear into the narrow alleys and abandoned buildings. But take your pick, one scary legend’s as good as another – it still won’t make the ghosts go away, or the missing return. That big pyre in the town square where the fountain used to be? It never burns out – don’t know why. Consumes the souls of the dead maybe. Anyway, good luck, as I don’t think I’ll be seein’you again…
